Welcome to the NEW Pappoutsakis.org where we invite you to join us in celebrating the legacy of BSO flutist and master teacher James Pappoutsakis. Established in his honor nearly 30 years ago, the James Pappoutsakis Memorial Fund (JPMF) is thrilled to share the history and activities of the annual Pappoutsakis Flute Competition via our new online home. Here, it is now easier than ever to:

* MEET this year's FINALISTS!
* DISCOVER the mission of the JPMF
* APPLY for the Annual Competition Online
* LEARN about our distinguished list of prize winners
* EXPLORE our collected list of commissioned pieces and composers
* DONATE to support this extraordinary organization

As we anticipate our 30th annual competition (2009-2010 academic year), we are especially excited to announce that renowned composer and Boston icon, Gunther Schuller, will compose this year’s new work, made possible through a generous grant from the Brannen-Cooper Fund.

Thank you for your interest in the James Pappoutsakis Memorial Fund and please join us on February 7th, 2010 at Boston Conservatory for the Final Round of the 30th Competition!
