The James Pappoutsakis Memorial Fund (JPMF)
was incorporated July 1, 1979
with the following purpose:

Preamble:

In memory of the great contributions to music and high standards of flute playing made by James Pappoutsakis, faculty member of the Boston Conservatory of Music, Boston University, Longy School of Music and the New England Conservatory of Music.  We, his friends, colleagues, and students, join together to encourage the perpetuation of those standards of excellence which he demonstrated in his playing and teaching.

Mission:

The purpose of this organization shall be to encourage promising flute players who are studying in the Boston area by periodically giving an award to an outstanding flutist.
